Academics Overview
Our curriculum follows the classical trivium, Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric, cultivating wisdom and virtue through the Great Conversation evident in our shared Western heritage. Each stage in the Trivium corresponds to how children naturally think at different ages. In the grammar stage (roughly grades 1–4), children absorb knowledge and demonstrate natural WONDER. Later during the logic stage (roughly grades 5–8), students naturally argue and learn to analyze and question with PASSION. And throughout the rhetoric stage (roughly grades 9–12), students learn to express ideas with DEPTH, clarity, and persuasion.
Our on-campus school days are Monday and Wednesday and our at-home school days are Tuesday and Thursday (Friday is added as an at-home day starting in 5th grade). Students learn on campus two days each week from professional teachers and at home the remainder of the week utilizing lesson plans provided by the school, with parents and teachers sharing responsibility for instruction.
We are committed to three operational principles; simplicity, focus, and accessibility. These principles govern school practice and programming. Our core commitment is to a Christian liberal arts-oriented education. Our programs and processes are simple in the name of peaceful and orderly living and to remain accessible to families in relation to tuition costs.
