“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

    -Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Christ embodies all wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30; Colossians 2:3) and all truth culminates in Him (John 1:14; John 14:6).

We can only define ourselves as a Christian school to the degree that the worship of Christ happens in our midst. Our goal is to see Christ in the liberal arts in order to grow a depth of worship as a community. We want our students to understand that we learn, read, write, spell, and create because we believe this is what it means to be created in the image of God. It’s also a way of growing our capacity to conceive of the immortal attributes of God, and thus deepening our worship. The end of an RCS education is worship.

We cultivate right affections and are transformed (Romans 12:2) by deeply considering what is true, good, and beautiful (Philippians 4:8).

We have a rich heritage in the educational tradition of the West, extending back to the ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome. In the form of great works of literature, art, and philosophy, thinkers have fostered wisdom and virtue in young hearts and minds by participating in a dialogue about the highest truths, the natural order of our universe, and what it means to be human. Students at RCS engage at an age appropriate level in that Great Conversation.

Christian parents are called to pass on and ground our children in the truths of Scripture. (Deuteronomy 6:7; Ephesians 6:4).

AT RCS parents are given increased time and space for discipleship of their children as they partner with teachers and work together to educate through our blended model that combines aspects of traditional school with homeschooling. Students learn on campus two days per week and at home the remainder of the week. Parents share responsibility for instruction with the professional, on-campus teacher who provides classroom instruction and take-home assignments. The school makes core curriculum choices, but families can supplement as often and as much as desired.
